W Magazine Features Alexander Wang

8/27/2009 11:39:00 AM Posted by Christina

W Magazine recently featured PG favorite, Alexander Wang. The article covers how Wang started, the turning point in his brand, and what he's going to do next.
Wang gushes about his Spring 2010 collection, which seems to be a continuation of more polished looks the way he did for fall '09, since he will be working with Calvin Klein runway stylist, Karl Templer.

The Spring will see an extension of the Alexander Wang brand, including eyewear, more than just cotton tops and t-shirts as well as a menswear line in the T collection, and his e-commerce site (which has already been launched). "We keep pushing the boundaries of ready-to-wear," Wang explains.

I really admire Alex Wang's ambition--it inspires me to reach for my goals and stop at nothing to achieve them. I look forward to all that the Alexander Wang brand has in store, and hope to fill my closet with all things Alexander Wang in the near future!

Fashion Week Spring '10: Alexander Wang

9/13/2009 10:20:00 AM Posted by Christina

There was a buzzing frenzy surrounding all that is Alexander Wang, from the show to the after-party last night. And with good reason. Alex Wang has done it again, landing a sporty, sexy trendsetting collection, with a football chic theme.

The it-girl wore a long, messy braid and knee-high socks with the calf cut out. I especially admire the tighty-whitey-type sports bra top. And I am loving the accessories, from the zip-up peep-toe booties and football-esque clutches in brown and black. The eyewear did make its way on the runway, as well.

What I admire most about the Alexander Wang, is that although he has been setting trends since his first collection, every piece is timeless in its own right, donning a effortless approach to cool, comfy and oh so chic.

The spring collection consisted of day and night pieces, with a neutral color palette of red, beige, blue, camel, grey, khaki, green, white and black.

See more of the fabulous collection after the jump.

Although Alexander Wang is the only one we really care about, other designers like Vena Cava have designed pieces for the collection as well.

If you're in New York, Alexander Wang will be among the other 2008 CFDA finalists making a trip to one of the Gap stores. Send me photos!

If you're in Tampa or close, Gap at Mall of Millenia in Orlando is the closest store that will be carrying the line.

And if you can't get to the store, or just don't want to...you can shop online!

The Best of The Costume Institute Gala

5/06/2009 09:04:00 AM Posted by Christina

"Model as Muse" was the theme of this year's Costume Institute Gala at the Met in NYC. The Master and Mistress of Ceremonies were Marc Jacobs and Kate Moss, while top designers made an appearance with their favorite celebrities and models, adorned in their haute couture designs.

"Exploring the reciprocal relationship between high fashion and evolving ideals of beauty, The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion focuses on iconic models of the twentieth century and their roles in projecting, and sometimes inspiring, the fashion of their respective eras. The exhibition, organized by historical period from 1947 to 1997, will feature haute couture and ready-to-wear masterworks accompanied by fashion photography and video footage of models who epitomized their epochs."
